Amidst the bonhomie abroad for the Awami League government, rising animosity between the two principal parties the Awami League and the Bangladesh National Party (BNP) in opposition may prove a sore point. This has resulted in the opposition not attending Parliament frequently on frivolous grounds such as seating within the parliament over which no compromise has been reached despite a long discussion cum altercation between the parties and also now issues which are strictly not within the purview of the parliament such as corruption charges against members.
