Politics and civil military relations

The politics of Bangladesh is fixed in debate and differences over seating arrangements in the Parliament with the Awami League refusing to cede to the BNP the front bench seats for its senior members. This has resulted in a stalemate. While number of BNP members in the parliament is low, some of the senior members of the Party are not happy to sit behind and thus a proportionate representation has to be worked out. The impasse is likely to be broken and hopefully the BNP would start attending the Parliament thereby providing greater impetus to governance and reforms.
