Naxalism: The Offensive Begins?

The Central government’s much heralded offensive against the Naxals has reportedly begun around Christmas without much fanfare. In a media dominant universe that is the way such actions would have to be taken for already there is extensive publicity therefore raising more contentions. With civil society actively resisting so called Green Hunt operations, the Central government was on the defensive with Mr Chidambaram completely denying the existence of such plans.
