Officer Shortage the Number Crunch in the Armed Forces

With approximately 2000 inductees deficient over a period of 4 years or 500 per year the number of officers deficient in the Indian Armed Forces is likely to increase over a period. The present deficiency stands from 11,000 to 12,000 with an increase in 500 in the same each year this may continue to rise and needs serious review at an appropriate level. As per the Ministry of Defence the, Government has taken various steps to encourage the youths to join the Armed Forces.
